A conversation with KatrinaUmback

Welcome to Heartbeat of the Mallee proudly brought to you by TASCO Inland Petroleum.

Today, host John Dooley is speaking with passionate heart heath advocate Katrina Umback.
In 2019, Katrina’s husband Scott, died from a heart attack while awaiting an emergency flight to Melbourne.
It was a devastating loss for Katrina and her young sons and it’s what drives her commitment to preventing avoidable deaths from cardiovascular disease.

Katrina has worked with organisations including the heart foundation, Shane Warne legacy, La Trobe university, Mildura rural city council, and the local healthcare community to reduce the burden of heart disease across rural populations.

As an ambassador for the heart foundation’s adventure for hearts, Katrina has helped to put a spotlight on heart health.

Katrina is the Mildura rural city council citizen of the year 2025, and she also serves as chair of the Monash rural health Mildura community advisory committee.
