Who is eligible to apply? To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be an Australian permanent resident.
• Be Students undertaking tertiary studies who are under the age of 24
• Be a first, second, third or fourth year student enrolled in a health-related course.
• Originally be from or currently living in the Northern Mallee and Southwest NSW in Mildura, Wentworth and Robinvale LGA’s.

Background

Surgeon Kevin Chambers will be forever enshrined in Mildura's memory.

An integral part of Mildura Base Public Hospital’s Foundation, the KC Society was established in honour of Mr Chambers to help assist rural doctors realise their dream of practicing medicine and advance them in their training.

Mr Chambers arrived in Mildura in 1983 after completing his training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.

There are tens of thousands of people in the Mildura community - and beyond - who benefited from his surgical skills and now the KC Society Tertiary Scholarships Program will benefit young students in our region by supporting them financially during their studies.
